Introduction

Hello everyone! We are a group of students who are currently taking Bachelor of Accountancy in UPM Serdang. One of the courses we are taking is Agriculture and Man. It is great that we are creating and having this blog to share what we have learnt during lecture with everyone!

Some of you may not have full understanding on the term "agriculture". So what is agriculture?
We can break the word "agriculture" into two parts, which are "agri" and "culture". "Agri" comes from the Latin word "ager" which means field and "culture" is originated from the Latin word "cultura" which means cultivation or tillage of the soil. In short, agriculture is the cultivation of the natural resources to produce commodities.

    Aquaponics refers to a food production system that couples aquaculture with hydroponics whereby the nutrient rich aquaculture water is fed to hydroponic grown plant, involving nitrifying bacteria for converting ammonia into nitrates. Want to know how to build an aquaponics system step by step?
